Locals Local 501 Newsletters BC Local 501 Twice per year, CLAC awards donations of $1,000, $1,500, or $2,500 to local causes nominated by members. All causes and amounts are selected at random from qualified nominations. Matthew’s House in Abbotsford, nominated by Local 501 member Rajni Monga (Communitas Supportive Care Society), won a $2,500 donation during a draw held in December 2019. “At Matthew’s House, they provide quality care in a beautiful, homelike environment for children and youth who live with complex care needs,” says Rajni. “They have created a safe and loving home for children and youth, giving parents peace of mind. When I visited Matthew’s House I was very surprised that this is very beautiful house.” Matthew’s House is a faith-based, registered charity providing care in communities across British Columbia to those living with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. Providing families with the support they need, Matthew’s House is about caring for kids, hospitality, compassion, and joy. All of the funds for Matthew’s House come from the generous support of individuals and community partners.
