All causes and amounts are selected at random from qualified nominations. The Brampton Buddhist Mission Centre, nominated by Thushari Punchihewa, a Local 304 member employed by Holland Christian Homes Inc., received a $1,500 donation from CLAC. “The Brampton Buddhist Mission Centre is raising money to support the Canadapura Children’s Village, located in the district of Hambantota in Sri Lanka,” says Thushari. “Canadapura Children’s Village is a home to 35 children whose parents were unable able to care for them, or who were killed in the 2004 tsunami. Work is currently underway to finish construction on a two-storey dormitory.” Rev.
