Tuesday, July 14, 2026 Brantford Roofing and Sheet Metal Workers Ratify New Collective Agreements with Wage and Benefits Gains Local 6 Ratifications Construction BRANTFORD, ON—Employees of Stratford Sheetmetal Inc. and BML Roofing Systems Inc., ICI construction roofing contractors based in Brantford, Ontario, ratified new collective agreements providing wage increases, enhanced benefits, and improved workplace provisions. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 6. The union has represented the companies’ employees since 1966. The two groups, which include sheet metal workers, roofers, and labourers, voted 85 percent in favour of the agreements, which run from June 1, 2026, to May 31, 2029. Both agreements provide journeyperson wage increases of $4.34 over the three-year term, along with substantial improvements to benefit hour banks, increased vision coverage, and enhanced long-term disability coverage. Additional improvements include a new paid bereavement day for immediate family members and increased mileage reimbursement to $0.67 per kilometre when using personal vehicles. BML Roofing Systems employees also secured the introduction of a new wage and experience classification, allowing workers to progress more quickly through the wage grid. “This agreement reflects the commitment of both the members and the employer to finding a fair and sustainable path forward,” says Marco Mueller, CLAC representative. “Our members bring a high level of skill, professionalism, and pride to their work every day, and this agreement recognizes their important role while supporting long-term stability for both the workforce and the employer.” Stratford Sheetmetal Inc. and BML Roofing Systems Inc. provide ICI roofing and sheet metal construction services, with employees working on projects across southwestern Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area.
