Tuesday, January 14, 2020 Brand Energy Employees Ratify New Contract Locals Local 63 Ratifications Sectors Construction Edmonton—Employees of Brand Energy Solutions (Canada) Ltd., based in Edmonton, ratified a new collective agreement providing them with increases to wages while maintaining benefits coverage and retirement savings contributions. The 250 employees covered by the agreement include scaffolders, insulators, and labourers. They are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 63, which has represented them since September 2007. The two-year contract provides employees with a 1.2 percent increase to base wage rates while maintaining 4 percent employer contributions to both the CLAC Pension Plan and CLAC Group RSP. Employer premiums to the cost of the health and welfare benefits plan were also increased to maintain full employer-paid coverage. Other improvements include an increase to bereavement pay, a one-day leave of absence for the birth of a child, and increased boot allowance premium.
