Sunday, September 5, 2021 Board Member Profile Meet Muhammad Shahid Locals Local 56 Newsletters Alberta Local 56 Muhammad Shahid is a new member of the Local 56 Board. He was elected in early 2021 for a three-year term. Muhammad did his diploma in precision mechanics and instrumental technology. He has 18 years of experience as a Red-Seal certified journeyman millwright and 7 years as a fourth-class power engineer. He has been working as a journeyman millwright and power engineer in Maple Leaf Poultry in Edmonton since 2011. Muhammad has been serving as a chief union steward since July 2017 as well as a union bargaining committee member for the last two collective agreements. He was also part of the Joint Health and Safety Committee for a year. A natural leader among his peers, Muhammad is a great supporter of CLAC and it’s work. He is solution-focussed and cares about the members he serves. He is also looking forward toward to collectively working together with his fellow members.
