Tuesday, May 1, 2018 B&J Contracting Workers Ratify Contract with 12 Percent Wage Increase Local 52 Ratifications New Lowell, ON—CLAC Local 52 members employed at B&J Contracting have voted 94 percent in favour of a new collective agreement. The contract includes substantial wage increases across all categories, totalling 12 percent over three years. There are also improvements to benefits, pension, overtime, and holiday pay. “I’m really happy with what the bargaining committee was able to achieve,” said Robert Brink, Local 52 representative. “We worked hard to get a settlement that’d be a big step forward, especially on wages, and still allow B&J to be competitive and keep the membership working.” The 40 operators, pipelayers, labourers and truck drivers at B&J Contracting perform water and sewer and site prep work, primarily in Simcoe County.
