Friday, February 27, 2026 Besseling Mechanical Employees Secure Steady Gains with New Contract Local 6 Ratifications Construction HAMILTON, ON—Local 6 members employed by Besseling Mechanical Inc. ratified a three-year collective agreement providing them with steady monetary gains and other improvements. Local 6 has represented Besseling Mechanical employees since 1971. The renewed agreement, effective from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2029, includes annual total package increases over three percent each year. It also includes increases to the health fund, pension fund, and various union funds such as the training and safety funds and expands and clarifies the lead-hand and responsibility premiums. “This agreement ensures steady, predictable growth for our members while maintaining the stability and professionalism that have long defined Besseling crews,” says Ben Hirst, representative. “The result is a fair settlement that rewards experience and keeps our members well positioned for continued success in a competitive industry.” Besseling Mechanical, based in Hamilton, Ontario, provides mechanical contracting services for industrial, commercial, and institutional projects across southern Ontario.
