BDA Employees Unanimously Ratify New Contract Providing Large Increases
Etobicoke, ON—Local 52 members employed by BDA Inc. unanimously ratified a three-year collective agreement providing them with large wage increases to help offset the rising cost of living.
The contract provides members, who are employed as carpenters and labourers, with a 17 percent total package increase over the term. In addition, the foreperson premium was increased and the out-of-town meal allowance was increased by $18 per day.
“The union bargaining committee precisely understood the improvements that were needed for the group,” says Randy Parris, CLAC representative. “We had a productive and efficient bargaining session where we secured competitive wages for all the members and ensured that long term employees were rewarded as well.”
BDA is a general contractor working in the GTA and surrounding areas.
