Sunday, August 18, 2019 BC Transportation Ratifications Locals Local 66 Newsletters Sectors Transportation and Warehousing Gallant Trucking (2013) Ltd Local 66 members employed by Gallant, based in Kamloops, ratified a 4-year agreement providing them with improvements to the benefits plan and retirement savings. Up to $1,500/yr. of members’ voluntary RSP contributions will be matched by the employer. Gallant is a family-owned business specializing in residential and commercial water hauling. Lomak Bulk Carriers Corp. The 156 Local 66 members employed by Lomak, based in Prince George, voted 98% in favour of a new 5-year agreement providing them with a 10% total increase in wages over the life of the agreement, with a $500 bonus for all employees in the 2nd year. Employees’ RSP contributions will be moved to CLAC’s plan, with the introduction of a 1% matching pension contribution. In addition, employees will see significant improvements to their benefits, with an increase to employer-paid benefits coverage. Each employee will also receive a new $300/yr. healthcare spending account, with incremental increases over the life of the agreement. Other gains include the introduction of a tool allowance for shop employees, an increase to the work-wear allowance, improvements to vacation scheduling language and dispatch scheduling procedures, and additional coverage for medical examinations.
