BC Training Registration and Reimbursement Update

The CLAC Training team is excited to announce changes to the course catalogue registration and reimbursement process, and the return of two popular programs.

Catalogue Courses

Members whose employer pays into an education and training fund (ETF) can register for courses offered in our course catalogue and receive up to $300 of training at no charge. This is a $600 value because course prices are reduced by 50 percent for ETF members.

You will no longer be required to pay a deposit (formerly 50 percent of course cost) for catalogue courses when you register through CLAC Training. Please note that payments will still be collected for no-shows.

The following courses will not count toward the $300 maximum—they are always offered at no charge for ETF members.

  • Behaviour Based Safety (BBS)
  • Confined Space Awareness
  • Construction Safety Training Systems 09 (CSTS)
  • Creating a Safe and Respectful Workplace
  • Defensive Driving Fundamentals
  • Drug and Alcohol Awareness
  • Possession and Acquisition License (PAL)
  • Pleasure Craft Operator License
  • Standard First Aid (two day)
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
  • WHMIS 2015

Course Reimbursements

In addition to the $300 of course catalogue training, ETF members are eligible for an added $300 each calendar year in reimbursements for other industry-related training (either offered in the CLAC course catalogue or by a non-CLAC provider). Contact CLAC Training for preapproval before registering. Some restrictions apply. Please check clac.ca/courses.

CLAC Training is committed to your safety and career development. We are confident this revamped program will meet the needs of our members, on and off the job.
