Tuesday, May 13, 2025 B & B Heavy Civil Employees Overwhelmingly Ratify New Agreement Local 68 Ratifications Construction SURREY, BC—Local 68 members employed by B & B Heavy Civil Construction Ltd., based in Surrey, BC, voted 88 percent in favour of ratifying a three-year collective agreement providing them with wage, pension, and other improvements. The new contract provides the approximately 50 members with an immediate five percent wage increase followed by three percent increases in 2026 and 2027. In addition, employer contributions to members’ pension plans will increase by 0.5 percent in 2026 and 2027. The agreement also includes significant benefits improvements, including seven-day short term disability. Other improvements include an increase to the living-out allowance from $150 to $200 and eight hours pay when an employee transitions from the night shift to the day shift for the transition day.
