Wednesday, November 20, 2019 Auto-Motion Shade Employees Secure Wage and Other Improvements with New Contract Ratifications Sectors Manufacturing Markham, ON—CLAC members employed Auto-Motion Shade voted overwhelmingly to ratify a new three-year collective agreement providing them with significant improvements to their wages, benefits, and retirement savings. The 35 members working at the company’s facility in Markham have been represented by CLAC since February 2005. The new contract provides members with wage increases ranging from 7.25 to 12 percent, depending on their classification. It also provides them with an additional float day, an extra week of vacation, an increase to their health spending account, and a new matching RRSP. “The union bargaining committee understood the needs of their fellow members and successfully negotiated a strong agreement,” says Kevin Gates, CLAC representative. “Employees were especially pleased with the increase to their health spending account and improvements to their retirement savings, which resulted in overwhelming support by the membership for the new contract.” Auto-Motion Shade Inc. manufactures manual and motorized roll-up sun visors and sun protection shades for RVs, trucks, coaches, buses, locomotives, and agricultural and construction equipment.
