Wednesday, August 16, 2017 Attention Steamfitter / Pipefitter Apprentices! Changes are coming to your Alberta apprenticeship program Newsletters Beginning September 2018, the steamfitter/pipefitter program is moving from three terms of technical (in-class) training to a four-term program. To become a certified journeyperson in three terms, you must be enrolled in Period 3 technical training by April 30, 2018, and successfully complete it by June 22, 2018. You must also complete all your required work experience hours by July 1, 2020. If you are unable to complete these conditions by those dates, you will be switched over to the four-term program. You will receive further information from AIT about this in 2018. You can also visit tradesecrets.alberta.ca for more information and further updates.
