Newsletters Ontario Construction Sectors Construction Are you looking to improve communication, safety, and productivity on site and reduce conflict? CLAC’s Supervisor Micro-Certification Program (SMCP) can help you become a better leader. In 2021, CLAC Training conducted a national assessment of front-line supervisor training. The survey found that 94 percent of employers and supervisors said that a front-line leadership program focusing on soft skills is important or very important. With funding help from the Ontario government, CLAC Training took this data and used it to create SMCP. The program helps supervisors develop the soft skills—such as communication, conflict management, teamwork, and more—that they need to do their job effectively. It is available for free to members whose employer contributes to CLAC’s training fund. Through a series of six core modules, you will learn essential leadership skills geared to making you a better supervisor for the people on your team. Each module is only 3.5 hours long and is offered virtually or in person (subject to provincial health guidelines). By completing the program, you will gain the tools you need to become a people-centric leader, creating a positive, safe, and productive workplace and do so in a cost-effective and time-efficient way.
