A 2021 study from the European Society of Cardiology found that those who were very active in their jobs had a higher risk of death from cardiac events than those who moved less throughout the day. On the other hand, moderate, high, and very high levels of leisure activity were linked to a lower risk of early death. One barrier for those who have strenuous jobs is that, once they punch out, they often have no energy left for exercise.
