Electrical Estimating Course 1
Participants will learn how to systematically put together an accurate bid for electrical work. This course is for electrical contractors; journeyperson electricians; maintenance electricians; purchasing personnel; and engineers, architects, and technicians. This hands-on course will take you right from the start of an estimate to the final bid price. Your estimates will be done in a systematic way. The forms we supply are easy to follow and will guide you step by step. Errors are easy to find. All materials are listed and a labour unit is applied to each item. You will finalize a tender and add overhead and all other job costs. Adding profit then discussing selling the job will be your final step. Topics include estimating fundamentals: detailed layout and takeoff; labouring, lost time, and costs; job expenses, discussion on pricing from suppliers, and summarizing.
Upon passing Electrical Estimating Course 1 and Course 2, participants will receive two Gold Seal points from the Canadian Construction Association for each course.
CLAC members who work for a company that contributes to the training fund are eligible to apply to CLAC for reimbursement of the cost of the course, up to a maximum of $400, upon successful completion.
