Train to Employment (TTE) is a hands-on program designed to jumpstart the career of those looking to enter the skilled trades! This program is designed to remove financial barriers to training, preparing students with the skills and confidence to begin a rewarding career as a first-year apprentice.

CLAC has partnered with employers across Alberta to offer this two-week program to successful applicants at no cost, with a 4-week job placement available for all graduates.

Program Outline

Choose Your Trade

Welder Apprentice – Welding is hands-on, creative work full of endless career possibilities. Program instruction includes various welding processes, joints, weld types and weld symbols. Graduates will also earn their CWB FCAW certification in the flat position.

Scaffolder Apprentice – First on the job, and last off the job, Scaffolders are in high demand across the province. Learn the basics of safe erection and dismantling of system, frame and brace, and tube and coupler scaffold components.

Insulator Apprentice – Did we mention, you can earn dual certification as an Insulator/Scaffolder to boost your employability? Instruction includes various insulation adhesives, fittings, fasteners and finishes, and their application.

Program Costs

This program is available at no cost for successful applicants. Program tuition is sponsored by CLAC, participating employers and funding from the Government of Alberta.
