Solid Wage Gains for Executive Hotels Employees

Vancouver—Local 501 members employed by Executive Hotels and Resorts ratified a new collective agreement providing them with solid wage gains over the four-year term.

Over 240 members work in Executive Hotels’ Vancouver locations as bartenders, servers, bellpersons, and housekeeping and front desk staff.

The members will receive three percent wage increases in each of the first two years of the contract and two percent each year for the last two years. They will also receive increases to their pension contributions.

“We made some good gains with respect to wages,” says Don Mundy, CLAC representative. “The negotiations process was long and helped in part by a labour board-appointed mediator. We’re looking forward to moving on and working with the membership to continue to improve their work environment.”
