Virtual Fun at CLAC Indoor Golf Tournament

Forty golfers gathered in Tecumseh again this winter to compete in the annual CLAC Local 53 indoor golf tournament.

On the Green, a virtual screen golf facility, was the perfect venue for the event, with the iconic PGA National course in Florida accurately projected for every team.

Several specialty prizes were handed out, but the main goal in the scramble format for all participants is the team low score. By virtue of an eagle on the par 5 18th hole, the plumbers from CJ Bondy Plumbing in Amherstburg claimed top spot with a round of 59, edging out the second place team by a single stroke. In the putting contest, top prize of a TV left the facility with apprentice Jon MacLellan, who had a perfect score on a total of three putts.

The net proceeds from the day supported the local outreach of the Downtown Mission of Windsor. Local 53 is pleased to be able to contribute $1,125 to this very worthwhile cause.

Mark the date: The annual Chatham Member Centre outdoor golf tournament will be held Saturday, July 28, at Willow Ridge Golf and Country Club in Blenheim.

 See you there!
