Wages, Benefits Improve with New Lafarge Contract

Coldwater, ON—Employees working at Lafarge Coldwater have a new collective agreement. The contract was negotiated by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52.

The agreement includes annual wage and pension improvements of 2.1 percent to 2.4 percent for all classifications over the length of the 36-month contract as well improvements each year to matching retirement savings contributions, improved vacation time off, improved vision coverage, and improved boot allowance.

“This was a good outcome providing increases that surpass the cost of living,” says J.D. Alkema Regional Director.

CLAC Local 52 has represented workers at Lafarge Coldwater since 1999.
