ON Healthcare Local Annual General Meetings

Local 302, 304, and 305 Recently Held their AGMs

Local AGMs give members a chance to get together, hear an update on the union, and enjoy a workshop or entertainment.

Local 302 held its annual general meeting on November 19, 2019, to review the activities of the past year. We also had the opportunity to be thoroughly entertained by Bob Cates from Comedy in Motion. Thank you to everyone who attended!

Local 304

On October 29, 64 Local 304 members attended the local’s annual general meeting in Barrie. Members were updated on the work done by the local and CLAC since the last meeting, including the union’s increased emphasis on mental health through the promotion of the mental health first aid course and engagement with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. The #ThankaPSW campaign was also discussed, and members are encouraged to follow it on Facebook.

On behalf of the board, Rhonda Gow and Mary Dominguez challenged those in attendance to collect food in their workplaces for their local food banks. Workplaces will be collecting food into February 2020.

At the meeting, members completed a True Colors® workshop, taught by Melanie Sykes, representative. True Colors® was chosen by the board because of previous experiences they had with the course. The session provided members with information about personalities and what motivates coworkers—both keys to making teams work better together.
