CLAC Applauds Funding for Women Building Futures

CLAC applauds the UCP government’s recent announcement of $10 million in funding over the next four years to Women Building Futures (WBF).

Since inception, WBF and its staff have been tireless champions promoting, encouraging, training, and ultimately getting more women into the construction trades.

“To see this kind of investment by the UCP government demonstrates commitment to growing a great organization with a proven track record and creating greater opportunity for women in the trades,” says Ryan Timmermans, regional director of CLAC's Edmonton Member Centre. “WBF and its staff have made a real impact on the construction industry, but more importantly, have had a significant and positive impact on the lives of many women and families. Every day WBF, its staff and alumni, champion opportunities for women in the construction industry.”

As a proud long-standing partner with WBF, CLAC congratulates them on this incredible investment and the opportunities it creates.
