Causes We Care About

We get involved in events that benefit your community, and communities around the world. Here are just a few of the many community-based projects we’ve supported across Canada.

International Day of Mourning

Maybe you’ve never experienced a close call at work or been the victim of a serious incident. But chances are you know someone who has.

In Canada alone, nearly three workers die on the job each day, on average. Another 660 are injured.

April 28 is the International Day of Mourning.

It’s a day to remember those injured or killed on the job and those suffering from an occupational illness. It’s a day to remember to work safely and that every moment counts.

For more information, watch Before Days End, an 18-minute film that examines the human impact that workplace accidents have on their victims and families.

Run for Water

Every year since its inception, CLAC has participated in Run for Water in BC as a sponsor for the event. Run for Water is an Abbotsford-based non-profit society that holds a running event to raise awareness and funds for clean water projects in some of the most remote and desolate areas of southern Ethiopia.

Habitat for Humanity

CLAC has partnered with Habitat for Humanity on various projects in the past, and we look forward to partnering on more projects in the future.

In Chatham, Ontario, we donated a piece of land for a Habitat for Humanity house, and CLAC members donated their time to help build it.

In Ottawa, we partnered with Optimum Mechanical Solutions (one of our signatory contractors) to provide the HVAC equipment and labour for two houses.

Habitat for Humanity is an international, non-governmental, and non-profit organization that works toward a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. For more information, visit

Relay for Life

In BC, CLAC has participated with Prince George’s Relay for Life, supplying lunch, snacks, and refreshments for all the volunteers, as well as providing thank you gift bags and cards. We also supplied some hourly prizes for the 24-hour walkers and helped with the set-up and coordination of the volunteer tent.

Relay for Life is an inspirational, non-competitive, 12-hour overnight fundraising event that brings the community together to celebrate life and fight cancer. For more information, visit
