Training Manager - BC - Langley

We are currently accepting resumes for a Training Manager – BC to join the CLAC Training, Apprenticeship, Jobs - West Team. This is a full-time, permanent position in our Langley Member Centre.

Job Summary:

The Training Manager, TAJ-West is responsible for overseeing provincial training operations and ensuring the effective delivery of programs that align with CLAC Training, Apprenticeship, and Jobs strategic goals. This role involves managing the provincial training team, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to optimize service delivery within the province.

The ideal candidate is a proactive and collaborative leader who can engage effectively with stakeholders, ensure compliance with industry standards, and support a high-quality training experience for CLAC members, signatory employers and the public.

Key Responsibilities:

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Leadership and Operational Oversight: Supervise and support provincial training teams, including setting goals, monitoring performance, and addressing operational needs to ensure efficient delivery of training programs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including CLAC staff, members, employers, community organizations, and industry partners, to promote training initiatives and enhance program offerings.
  • Training Program Coordination: Oversee the scheduling, coordination, and quality control of health and safety, leadership, and skill development programs across the province, in collaboration with the Manager, Training and Development.
  • Vendor and Partner Management: Manage relationships with training vendors and external partners to ensure delivery of high-quality programs and negotiate favorable terms for CLAC, in collaboration with the Stakeholder Engagement Group.
  • Event and Program Representation: Represent CLAC Training at relevant industry events and community engagements to promote programs and strengthen relationships with stakeholders.
  • Program Quality and Compliance: Oversee the development and implementation of training programs that comply with industry regulations and meet provincial standards. Ensure training materials and practices align with CLAC’s Training, Apprentices and Jobs West strategic goals and customer service standards.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Manage the provincial training budget, monitor expenses, and allocate resources effectively to maintain program efficiency and financial sustainability, under the direction of the Manager, Finance West.
  • Continuous Improvement and Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of training programs, ensuring all activities aligned with regulatory standards and internal policies.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Track and analyze program data to produce regular performance reports. Use data insights to support decision-making, enhance training offerings, and measure program impact.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree in business, education, or a related field, with specialized training in project management or workforce development considered an asset.
Skills and Experience:
  • Four (4) plus years of progressive experience in training management, workforce development, or a related field, preferably within a provincial scope.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and motivate team members.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, financial oversight, and data analysis for program performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement and internal collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize workload, and adapt to changing demands.
  • Knowledge of training program development, compliance, and industry regulations within the provincial context.
Reporting and Accountability:

This position reports to the Director of Training, TAJ-West.

Compensation:

The annual salary will range from $71,437 to $102,053.
