CLAC Jobs West Team Lead — Edmonton

Job Summary:

The CLAC Jobs West Team is seeking a temporary full-time Team Lead to work in the Edmonton member centre for a 12-month contract starting August 9, 2021.

Under the direction of the CLAC Jobs Manager, the Team Lead position is responsible for the hands-on supervision of a team that delivers employment and retention services to CLAC members and CLAC signatory companies. In addition to assigning daily tasks, the position ensures that team members are proficient and customer service levels are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign daily tasks and supervise a team of 3 to 4 employees that provide front-line employment and retention services. This includes, but is not limited to, walk-in customer service and responding to inquiries via telephone and email; assisting clients in the computer lab with job profile (resume) building.
  • Administer the creation and management of member profiles and database records.
  • Administer inbound data files and reports from signatory companies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in establishing standard work (best practices); teach best practices and coach team members to follow standard business practices.
  • File team attendance and time-off requests.
  • Assist with strategic recruitment initiatives.
  • Report operational concerns to the CLAC Jobs Manager.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Completion college or university program with a focus on human resources or business administration is preferred.

Skills and Experience:

  • Practical knowledge, skills and experience in employment services, human resources administration and office administration.
  • Understanding of collective agreements and union business practices.
  • Customer service orientated with exemplary business etiquette (in-person, telephone, and email).
  • Hands-on supervisory experience and skilled at leading and coaching a team.
  • Proficient using database applications and MS Office with advanced Outlook and Excel skills; adept at using applicant tracking or other HR software applications.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced customer-facing environment is essential.

Reporting and Accountability:

This position reports directly to the CLAC Jobs West Manager.
