When you’re represented by CLAC, your training needs are covered. Accessing our courses is easy, with Provincial Training Centres in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario, our mobile training network that services remote regions, and our classroom and computer-based courses.
While our different Provincial Training Centres each offer different courses (download course calendars here), they all provide training across the following categories. The courses listed below are just some of those that may be offered:
We have the hard skills courses you need, from Backhoe Basics to Construction Rigging, Excavator Safety, and more.
Our Personal Development courses help you be as healthy as possible through courses like Building a Healthy Lifestyle or Managing Your Debt and Planning for the Future.
We also have courses, such as the Labour Relations-related Cooperate to Win, which introduces the four pillars of progressive labour relations to help you manage conflict more productively. The course combines self-paced, online learning and a teaching session by a labour relations expert.
All of our stewards take part in a mandatory, three-level program where they learn about conflict resolution, dealing with discipline, filing grievances, employment and labour legislation, CLAC’s history and philosophy, and more.
Download a course calendar to find descriptions of all the courses offered at your training centre.
