Winkler Students Win CLAC Scholarships

Winnipeg—Three students from Winkler have each won $1,500 scholarships from CLAC. Jaclyn Peters is enrolled in the bachelor of science program at the University of Manitoba. Her mother, Margaret Peters, works as an educational assistant in the Garden Valley School Division in Winkler and serves as steward. She is also the secretary of Education, Service and Health Care Union (CLAC), Local 306.

Joshua Ginter is enrolled at the University of Winnipeg in the bachelor of arts degree program. His mother, Monica Ginter, works as an educational assistant in the Garden Valley School Division.

Stephanie Pinette is attending the University of Manitoba enrolled in the bachelor of music/education program. Stephanie’s mother, Rita Pinette, is an educational assistant in the Garden Valley School Division.

CLAC awards 12 scholarships annually to members currently working for CLAC-organized employers, or their spouses or children. CLAC considers applicants who support CLAC’s objectives of bringing respect, dignity, and fairness to the workplace community and a cooperative approach to labour relations.
