Vilano Employees Ratify First Agreement

DATE: June 28, 2012

Sudbury, ON—Construction Workers Local 52 members employed by Vilano Construction voted unanimously to ratify their first collective agreement.

The twenty-four-month agreement was the product of a long negotiation process and provides new pension contributions, a boot allowance, and an overall wage increase of approximately six percent.

“I am very pleased with the result of our negotiations” says JD Alkema, CLAC’s GTA and northern Ontario director. “The fact that every member voted ‘yes’ demonstrates the quality of this agreement and how much it will benefit our members.”
