The Pregnancy Centre of Sarnia Receives BCT Donation

DATE: July 06, 2012

Sarnia ON—The Pregnancy Centre, based in Sarnia, Ontario, received a $2,500 donation from CLAC's Building Communities Together program.

The centre offers services and support during unplanned pregnancies by providing information, advice, and counselling to women, teens, their partners, and their parents. The staff and volunteers provide non-judgemental care and education on the available options, as well as relationship counselling and community referrals. All of their services are free and confidential.

Pam Chmielewski of Camlachie, Ontario, nominated the centre. She began working at the centre on a placement while completing the Social Service Worker program at Lambton College. Since then, Pam has received an additional community service bursary from the college, which will allow her to put in another 200 hours. When that is complete, Pam expects to remain involved with the centre to continue helping young women in the Sarnia-Lambton area.
