Strong Gains for First Truck Employees

DATE: November 07, 2011

Edmonton—Employees of First Truck Centre Edmonton voted strongly in favour of a new two-year collective agreement, effective November 1, 2011.

The contract includes substantial wage and retirement plan increases, vacation and health benefit plan improvements, new on-the-job training provisions, and enhancements for those recognized as leaders in the workforce.

“This renewal provides sustainability and certainty for the next couple of years,” says Eric Nederlof, Alberta representative. “It helps make First Truck an attractive employer to many workers.”

First Truck employees sell parts and service and maintain tractor-trailers. They are members of the Pre-Board Screeners, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Allied Trades Union, Local 56.
