Significant Gains for Auto-Motion Shade Employees

Markham, ON—CLAC members employed by Auto-Motion Shade voted unanimously in favour of a renewed three-year collective agreement, which provides total wage increases of 6.75 percent over the term.

In addition to above average wage increases, the contract includes an additional float day, better wage provisions for employees temporarily transferred to another classification, and the introduction of employer contributions to the union’s Education and Assistance Fund. The agreement also includes improvements to the benefit plan and a $100 reimbursement for safety boots.

“We made some significant improvements for our members with this new settlement,” says Kevin Gates, Ontario representative. “I’m pleased we were able to reach agreement, especially given today’s tough economic climate.”
