Vancouver—CLAC members who work at Rogers Arena for Vancouver Arena Limited Partnership (also known as Canucks Sports and Entertainment) voted in favour of a new four-year contract. The agreement includes wage increases of 12 percent over the term and improvements to sick leave and vacation benefits. Security personnel also are now eligible for a bonus to offset the cost of annual security licensing.
“By negotiating openly, both parties were able to reach an agreement that met the needs of both sides,” says Earl Preece, president of Service, Health and Allied Workers Union Local 501. “A solid majority of our members agreed and voted for ratification.”
Over 530 Local 501 members work at Rogers Arena in housekeeping, security, hosting, conversion, and full-time trades.
