New Contract for Integral Employees

DATE: June 17, 2011

Fort McMurray, AB—Local 63 members employed by Integral Energy Services Ltd. working in the Wood Buffalo area recently voted ninety-eight percent in favour of accepting a new two-year collective agreement.

Employees received an initial base wage rate increase of at least 4.03 percent, effective June 15, 2011, and will receive a minimum of an additional 3.75 percent increase over the next two years. The agreement also includes positive changes to both layoff notice requirements and employer contributions to the health and welfare plan.

“We are pleased to be able to negotiate a competitive agreement,” says Daniel Dykstra, Alberta representative with Local 63. “The new contract ensures that our members’ wages and benefits keep pace with the rapidly changing realities of work in northern Alberta.”
