New Agreement for Canonbie Employees

Fort McMurray, AB—Local 63 members employed by Canonbie Contracting Ltd. recently ratified a new collective agreement.

The new contract includes a 2 percent increase to the base wage rate and a 1.75 percent increase every 6 months following, until August 31, 2014. Also included is a 2 percent increase to the employer’s contribution to the RSP and pension plans. 

Employees of Canonbie are currently finishing constructing the Stage 4 cogeneration plant at Suncor Firebag, north of Fort McMurray.
