Mississauga, ON—Employees of Liberty Place Retirement Residence in Toronto recently voted unanimously in favour of a new agreement providing wage increases of seven percent over the term as well as significant benefit improvements including new dental coverage, uniform allowance, and float days for part-time employees.
The employees are members of Health Care and Service Workers Union, Local 304 (CLAC).
“Staff are thrilled with the new agreement,” says Tina Levely, a steward working at Liberty Place. “Much credit is due to the bargaining committee who, through a long and oftentimes tedious negotiating process, effectively advocated on behalf of the membership to reach this outstanding agreement.”
