Edmonton—Local 63 members employed by Pyramid Corporation ratified a new agreement providing a four percent increase to base wage rates and an increase to the pension contributions.
The agreement, ratified by over seventy percent of employees who voted, also includes an additional scheduled wage increase in May 2012. The 1,300 employees, mostly electricians and instrument technicians, work in the oil and gas industry in Alberta.
Local 63 members employed by Pyramid Process Fabricators also ratified a new contract, with over seventy percent voting in favour. The agreement provides wage increases of four percent with an additional increase scheduled in the spring of 2012. The employees work in steel fabrication for the oil and gas industry in Alberta.
