Gisborne Employees Renew Collective Agreement

DATE: July 19, 2012

Edmonton—Local 63 members employed by Gisborne Fire Protection Alberta Ltd. voted unanimously in favour of a renewed thirty-two month collective agreement.

The agreement, which comes into effect August 1, contains a first year compensation increase of 3.1 percent in wage and retirement fund contributions, and increases to the night shift and foreperson premiums.

“We are pleased to have reached a settlement that everyone was happy with and which will work for both the employees and the company,” says Eric Nederlof, Alberta representative. “There is an excellent working relationship between all the parties and this agreement should keep Gisborne and its employees competitively placed.”
