Winnipeg—Educational assistants, members of Education, Service, and Health Care Union, Local 306, employed by the Garden Valley School Division have ratified their third collective agreement.
The three-year agreement includes improvements to job security and layoff language, sick and compassionate leave, educational assistant participation in professional development planning, wage adjustments, and competitive wage increases in each year.
“This agreement addresses membership needs,” says Derrick Martens, CLAC Winnipeg representative. “It’s a good conclusion to a process that had a high level of EA participation every step of the way.”
