Fort McMurry—Construction Workers Union, Local 63, members employed by Flint Industrial Construction Limited recently ratified a new collective agreement.
The agreement comes after months of negotiation and includes a two percent wage increase in September, with another 1.5 percent increase in March 2012, and subsequent wage reviews.
“Many thanks to everyone who had a hand in this effort,” says Jayson Bueckert, Fort McMurray director. “A special thanks to the exceptional team of stewards, who showed what working as a team ought to look like.”
Flint Industrial is currently working on the Suncor Firebag project and was recently awarded an oilsands construction project at the MEG Energy site near Conklin, Alberta. CLAC represents approximately 1,100 members employed by Flint Industrial.
