Langley, BC—Members of Construction and Allied Workers’ Union, Local 68, working for RDM Trucking and Excavating recently ratified a first collective agreement.
The three-year contract includes industry standard wages with increases totalling five percent over the term as well as a generous pension plan, benefits, and access to training provided by CLAC’s BC Training Centre.
“We are proud to be a part of union that offers such a good training program and great benefits to our loved ones,” says Shane Simpson, who was recently elected steward.
RDM Trucking and Excavating is based in Langley and works in the site preparation industry. The thirty employees only recently joined CLAC Local 68 after a successful organizing drive in late summer.
“Having RDM join the CLAC family gives us a very strong presence in the site prep sector and helps us negotiate industry leading rates,” says Rob Schmidt, CLAC’s BC construction coordinator. “We welcome our newest Local 68 members to the fold.”
