Calgary—Graham Howard has won one of twelve $1,500 scholarships awarded annually by CLAC to members, their spouses, children, and grandchildren.
Graham is currently in his third year studying electrical engineering at the University of Calgary. He has been a member of Construction Workers Union, Local 63, for six years.
Graham works for ABB Ber-Mac as a journeyperson electrician during the summer while he is not at university. He earned his journeyperson ticket in 2008 and is continuing his studies to become an electrical engineer.
ABB Ber-Mac employees perform electrical instrumentation and technician work all across the province of Alberta.
“It’s great that CLAC gives out these scholarships,” says Graham. “This will really help out with books and tuition at school.”
