Langley – The second annual CLAC charity event was held Wednesday at the CLAC office with a dozen staff and volunteers from South Fraser Community Centre in Surrey and CLAC employees filling over a hundred bags with tooth paste, soap, socks, mittens and other essentials which will be given out to the clients who frequent the Centre.
“It’s an honor be involved with South Fraser Community Centre and we’re pleased we can give a little bit to those who are in need. Our Local 501 members do an incredible job. They are all very special people.” said Miranda Rositch, CLAC BC’s Wellness Coordinator who organized the event.
South Fraser Community Centre Society is a non-profit, charitable organization providing basic services and support to the disadvantaged. Local 501 members are involved with ten different programs at the centre including a 24 hour a day community drop in centre and shelter, a free confidential health clinic, and a support lounge and food bank dedicated to those living with HIV and HCV.
