CLAC Appoints Wayne Prins Prairies Director

DATE: November 11, 2010

Edmonton—CLAC has appointed Wayne Prins as its new Prairies director responsible for CLAC operations in Edmonton, Calgary, Fort McMurray, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg. Prins most recently served as CLAC's Fort McMurray director. He moved to the city in 2004 as CLAC's first representative in the area and opened the union's Fort McMurray office. CLAC now represents more than half of all workers constructing oilsands facilities in the region.

“Wayne has provided outstanding leadership to one of our busiest offices,” says Dick Heinen, executive director. “We are confident that he will bring that same level of skill, experience, and labour relations knowledge to his new responsibilities. As a former Prairies director myself, I will work with Wayne for a time to ensure a smooth transition.”
