Vancouver—CLAC supports Premier Christy Clark’s announcement that BC’s minimum wage will rise to $10.25 an hour by May 1, 2012.
Delegates to CLAC’s National Convention called for an increase in BC’s minimum wage to $10.25 in November 2010 (http://www.clac.ca/news_posts/clac-calls-for-rise-in-bc-minimum-wage).
“We’re pleased to see that the government is listening,” says David Prentice, CLAC’s BC director. “Increasing the minimum wage is a big boost for working families. CLAC would also like to see annual cost of living increases.”
