Training
The world of work is changing quickly. Lifelong learning and flexibility have become buzzwords for the modern worker. CLAC's training centres have been established to meet this workplace reality. Through the diverse training offered, CLAC aims to develop a highly adaptable membership that will thrive in the workplaces of today and tomorrow.
Health Benefits
CLAC maintains extensive group benefit plans to protect members and their dependents in case of accident or illness. Learn more about CLAC's benefit plans, your coverage, and available options for taking care of your health and retirement needs.
Retirement
CLAC has two retirement programs that supplement government pensions (CPP and OAS) and help members maintain their lifestyle upon retirement. Established in 1974, the CLAC Pension Plan is a national defined contribution plan averaging a 9.3 percent rate of return since its inception. For members working in western Canada, a group RSP may be also available. Check your collective agreement to see whether you are entitled to pension plan and/or group RSP contributions.
Advantage Program
CLAC has a discount program that will help you save your hard-earned dollars. The union that makes a difference is pleased to offer its members and permit holders discounts on car rentals, computers, home and auto insurance, fitness clubs, hotels, and much more.
Workplace Insurance
We share every worker's desire for promoting health and safety in the workplace and for preventing injury and disease. But if injuries occur, we want you to have knowledgeable, sympathetic, and effective support throughout a workplace insurance claim.
Scholarships
As a progressive and innovative union, CLAC seeks to work hard for you today and to look toward tomorrow. And what better way to do it than to invest in your education? CLAC sponsors eight $1,500 scholarships for members and their spouses and children. Check it out and see if you may be eligible.
Bereavement
Few things are as difficult for a family to bear as the loss of a loved one. As a gesture of condolence and support, CLAC would like to provide you and your family with some financial help. CLAC’s Bereavement Fund benefit was established to provide assistance in the event of the death of a member of CLAC or a CLAC-affiliated local, the spouse of a member, or a dependent child of a member.
Research & Education
Throughout its history, CLAC has maintained active research and education programs. Our research and education department works to connect CLAC principles with day-to-day trade union work and provides research support for all CLAC activities and ongoing training for our representatives and staff.
