Training

Training is the lifeblood of a rapidly changing workplace. In order to equip and prepare members for the ever-changing workplace, and to ensure that their employers have a highly skilled and trained pool of employees, CLAC has established training centres in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Ontario.

A result of cooperative labour relations and collective agreement funding, the centres are equipped with the latest technology for self-directed computer-based training as well as traditional classroom instruction. CLAC has also developed a comprehensive mobile training network to reach and train workers in remote regions.

Staffed with professional trainers, these centres place CLAC members and their firms at the cutting edge of the new highly skilled, people-centred workplace. In addition to direct training, CLAC is actively involved in numerous provincial committees and forums that help shape the direction of training.

All CLAC members can take advantage of training courses offered. For most courses, members who have an education fund clause negotiated in their collective agreements can participate for free or at a reduced rate.

From accident investigation to zoom-boom operation, members can choose from a wide variety of courses and programs. For a complete list of courses available in your area or to enquire about participating in a course, follow the link to the training centre in your province.
