02/23/10—Increases for Willbros Employees
Fort McMurray, AB—About 200 CLAC Local 63 members employed by Willbros Construction Services (Canada) LP ratified a renewal two-year collective agreement. The employees perform pipeline construction and maintenance work on oilsands plant sites in the Fort McMurray area.
The renewed agreement contains an immediate wage increase of six percent, with an additional three percent in March 2011. The contract also provides immediate increases to retirement fund contributions and extended health benefit plan contributions.
“We are happy with the settlement and we look forward to working with the contractor to secure long term construction and maintenance contracts in the oilsands,” says Wayne Prins, CLAC Fort McMurray regional director.
